Antiracist Instruction
The Los Angeles Unified Antiracist Instruction Micro-Credentialing Program prepares Pre-Kindergarten through twelfth-grade educators to implement evidence-based, equity-focused, and antiracist instructional practices. The program supports educators in advancing antiracist education, activating students’ agency, fostering inclusive learning environments, leading positive change in their classroom and school, and improving achievement for Black students in Los Angeles Unified.
Who Should Apply
Certificated Pre-Kindergarten through twelfth-grade educators interested in strengthening evidence-based, equity-focused, and antiracist instructional practices. Acceptance priority will be given to certificated educators at SENI High and SENI Highest schools.
Learning Focus
Participants deepen their understanding of antiracist instruction, culturally relevant teaching, access and equity, assessment, curriculum and instruction, leadership, and student-centered classroom practice.
Commitment & Recognition

Full Micro-Credentialing Program
Early Childhood
The Los Angeles Unified Early Childhood Micro-Credentialing process prepares educators of our youngest learners, ages 2–8, to effectively teach and support early childhood education. The program supports educators in becoming accomplished early childhood educators, enacting positive change in their classrooms and schools, and improving student achievement in Los Angeles Unified.
Who Should Apply
Certificated educators who teach or support young learners, ages 2–8, and are interested in strengthening early childhood practice. Acceptance priority will be given to certificated educators at SENI High and SENI Highest schools, with additional priority for elementary educators holding a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Early Education Center teachers.
Learning Focus
Participants deepen their understanding of child development, developmentally appropriate practice, culturally and linguistically relevant teaching, access and equity, assessment, curriculum and instruction, leadership, and learner-centered early childhood classrooms.
Commitment & Recognition
Full programs include 105 hours of blended professional learning. Educators who complete all requirements earn a Los Angeles Unified Micro-Credential, a district digital badge, 3 Salary Points, and, for eligible Multiple Subject credentialed educators, TK authorization.
Transitional Kindergarten Qualification Information
The Los Angeles Unified School District Board of Education has approved the Early Childhood Micro-Credential as meeting the California Department of Education’s Transitional Kindergarten Qualification Requirements to teach Transitional Kindergarten.
The authorization for Multiple Subject Teaching Credentialed educators to teach Transitional Kindergarten through completion of this program will not be issued until all program requirements are met and the program closes on June 12, 2027. Teachers must possess the authorization at the time of the matrix selection process; therefore, it will not be available for use in April or May 2027.

Equitable Grading and Instruction
The Los Angeles Unified Equitable Grading and Instruction Micro-Credentialing process prepares educators of grades kindergarten through twelfth grade to effectively implement evidence-based, equity-focused grading and instructional practices. The program supports educators in becoming accomplished proficiency-based grading and mastery-based learning educators, enacting positive change in their classroom and school, and improving achievement for students in Los Angeles Unified.
Who Should Apply
Roster-carrying classroom teachers in grades kindergarten through twelfth grade who have earned EGI Certification and are interested in implementing evidence-based, equity-focused grading and instructional practices. Acceptance priority will be given to certificated educators at SENI High and SENI Highest schools.
Learning Focus
Participants deepen their understanding of proficiency-based assessment and grading practices, Mastery Learning-aligned instruction, learning targets, formative assessment, correctives, enrichment, feedback, student choice, and EGI-aligned classroom practice.

Full programs include 105 hours of blended professional learning. Educators who complete all requirements earn a Los Angeles Unified Micro-Credential, a district digital badge, and 3 Salary Points.
EGI Certification Requirement
The Equitable Grading and Instruction Micro-Credentialing Program requires that applicants have already earned EGI Certification.
Educators who have not yet earned EGI Certification should visit lausd.org/EGI and contact a Region EGI coach to learn about current professional development opportunities to earn EGI Certification.

Applicants will identify a classified staff partner who supports family engagement at their school, such as a Navigator, Community Representative, Office Technician, School Administrative Assistant, or other classified partner.

Family Engagement
The Los Angeles Unified Family Engagement Micro-Credentialing Program prepares educators of transitional kindergarten through twelfth grade to create and maintain systems of integrated family-school partnership from an assets-based perspective. The program supports school staff in building relational trust with families through high-impact, research-based engagement linked to student achievement and wellness.
Who Should Apply
Certificated educators interested in strengthening family-school partnerships and building schoolwide systems of family engagement. Acceptance priority will be given to certificated educators at SENI High and SENI Highest schools.
Learning Focus
Participants deepen their understanding of the Dual Capacity-Building Framework, NAFSCE Core Competencies, relational trust, family engagement data, student achievement and wellness, parent leadership, and co-leading with families.
Commitment & Recognition
Full programs include 105 hours of blended professional learning. Certificated educators who complete all requirements earn a Los Angeles Unified Micro-Credential, a district digital badge, and 3 Salary Points.
Team-Based Participation
This is a team-based program because the success of family engagement rests on the diverse strengths and perspectives of dedicated certificated and classified staff.
An ideal team includes a principal, a teacher or coordinator, and a classified staff member who supports parent and family engagement. While team participation with other certificated or administrative staff is encouraged, it is not required.

The Los Angeles Unified LGBTQ+ Supportive Education Micro-Credentialing Program prepares educators to deepen their skills to create affirming learning and working environments for LGBTQ+ students, staff, and families. The program supports educators in developing shared responsibility, addressing bias, understanding LGBTQ+ identity development, strengthening representation, applying law and policy, and using tools and strategies that support affirming school communities.
Who Should Apply
Educators interested in building inclusive, affirming, and supportive learning and working environments for LGBTQ+ students, staff, and families. Acceptance priority will be given to certificated educators at SENI High and SENI Highest schools.
Learning Focus
Participants deepen their understanding of LGBTQ+ history, district policy and legal mandates, bias reduction, diversity and intersectionality, SOGI identity development, representation in curriculum, and multi-tiered supports for affirming environments.

Linked Learning
The Los Angeles Unified Linked Learning Micro-Credentialing Program prepares educators to lead and sustain pathways earning silver or gold certification in the Linked Learning standards, including an integrated program of study, work-based learning, and integrated student support. The program supports educators in becoming Linked Learning leaders who use research-based practices to build systems, strengthen industry partnerships, integrate Career Technical Education standards with core instruction, and build the capacity of other educators.
Who Should Apply
Certificated teachers and administrators with a clear teaching credential who are connected to Linked Learning pathways or schools and are interested in leading high-quality pathway implementation. Acceptance priority will be given to certificated educators at SENI High and SENI Highest schools.
Learning Focus
Participants deepen their understanding of Linked Learning core components, integrated programs of study, work-based learning, integrated student support, pathway data, high-quality performance assessment, project-based instruction, industry partnerships, and sustainable pathway leadership.

Linked Learning Pathway Eligibility
Applicants must have a clear teaching credential, meaning the candidate has completed a credential induction program successfully prior to starting the Linked Learning Micro-Credential.
Applicants must also be currently assigned to a Linked Learning pathway or school, or have at least one year of experience at a Linked Learning pathway or school and be interested in helping a school onboard to Linked Learning.

The Los Angeles Unified Secondary Literacy Micro-Credentialing Program prepares teachers of sixth through twelfth grade to deepen their understanding of how students develop reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, with a focus on the science of reading and structured literacy. Participants explore ways to differentiate instruction, integrate literacy across content areas, use data to inform teaching, and create inclusive, engaging classrooms that support all learners in achieving grade-level literacy and becoming college and career-ready.

Teachers of grades sixth through twelfth who are interested in strengthening literacy instruction across content areas and supporting students in developing reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. The Los Angeles Unified Special Education Micro-Credentialing Program prepares general education teachers of transitional kindergarten through twelfth grade to create partnerships with stakeholders to support all students in receiving an equitable education. The program supports general education teachers in building their knowledge of inclusive settings through high-impact, research-based instructional strategies linked to student achievement.
Who Should Apply
General education teachers or educators in out-of-class positions with access to a general education classroom who want to strengthen inclusive instructional practices for students with disabilities. Acceptance priority will be given to certificated educators at SENI High and SENI Highest schools.
Learning Focus
Participants deepen their understanding of inclusive practices, least restrictive environment, individualized education plans, progress monitoring, accommodations, differentiated instruction, collaboration with special education colleagues, stakeholder partnerships, and reflection for professional growth.

General Education Audience Requirement
This program is designed for general education teachers who want to strengthen inclusive and effective instructional practices for students with disabilities.
Candidates must be general education teachers or hold an out-of-class position, such as Intervention Teacher or Coordinator, with access to a general education classroom. Special Education teachers are not eligible to apply.
